Only The Educated Are Free !

"EDUCATION is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world"

Nelson Mandela ...

The strength and stability of a country is measured in terms of their literate populace which contributes to the development and the well being of the country.

Since Independence, Education in India has expanded many folds. A huge number of universities and colleges are established since then.

The first challange is Expansion, We have to establish new universities and the colleges in order to cope with the increasing demand for higher education in order to ensure that the facilities for higher education are available in enough number for all.Experts believe that no country has been able to become an economically advanced country, if its enrolment ratio in higher education has been less than 20%.

The government should establish new colleges, universities, new IITs & IIM's, Specially in rural places,Because more than half of our country is living in villages.capacity should be increased by increasing intake of exiting colleges and universities through increase in seats of existing courses as well as introducing new courses. It cannot be overemphasised that expansion in higher education should be made in such a manner that it offers equitable access for all.

The second challange in front of us is, Excellance,Unless we recognize the basic problem, examine it dispassionately, we are unlikely to solve the problem. Education has more impact on economic growth than natural resources, foreign investment, exports, imports, whatever. We want quantity with Quality ,this will decide the future of education and of India as an education superpower.

Quality in education is not just about providing the best infrastructure, the latest computer-aided learning systems, air-conditioned classrooms and smartboards. Nor is it about opening up more and more educational institutes.we have to first accept & follow,The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), apex watchdog and quality control agency for higher education providers identifies seven criteria for determining quality. These are curricular aspects, teaching, learning and evaluation, research, consultancy and extension, infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progression, governance and leadership and innovative practices.

And the Finall challange is Inclusion,We possess innovative ideas, but do not possess innovative action. There should always be change. If there is no adaptability, the country will not develop. An attitude of change is desirable for achiving excellance in education. Surely there is something more important than money. Yes, there is. And it is the untapped human capital that India has in abundance and which it criminally neglects. It neglects them because the powers that be have it made under the current system and it serves their narrow purposes.

There are hundreds of millions of basic brains in India. However it takes resources to train a basic brain and turn it into a useful brain. First we have to work on the

Primary education, somewhat like primary health care. The solution is very simple, we have to include the best brains of our country to work for the upcomming challanges in the world of education.

"Education therefore is a Process of living & not a preparation for future living "

John Dewey
