Chalo Chalo Chalo Chalo DILLI! - Part 2

The first things we discussed were the plans for the day. We headed to Barakhamba Road where my dad’s office branch is situated. I realized it would be better if I left my luggage there so that I could easily roam around the city. After doing the needful, Gurpreet insisted we should visit Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. And what an experience it was! I was a kid when I visited Gurudwara once and had no memory of the same. Hence, it was a wonderful experience for me! We were then supposed to meet a friend, Nishant Jha (nishanu34), an old MSian but sadly he couldn’t make it as he was busy with his marriage preparations. The rest of the MSians were going to meet me before 12.30-1 pm. That’s when my eyes fell on Jantar Mantar and immediately decided to visit it. Gurpreet wasn’t ashamed to admit that she’s never been there although she has lived in Delhi since birth! This was a neatly maintained place and we both were happy we made a visit!

We then headed to the CCD (simply to charge my phone :P ). We got a bad news that Pranay might not be able to make it due to work issues. On the other hand, Shalu Dhyani called and me not knowing much about Delhi roads and places, I let her and Gurpreet decide the venue of meet. Finally, CP was decided as the place of meeting! Khaled bhai sadly wasn’t in town but his wife, Sana Khan, agreed to join!

We left CCD when we got news that Sana ji has reached. And what I saw gave me a pleasant surprise! Sanaji wasn’t alone…Khaled bhai was there too! Known for giving such surprises, bhai had cut short his Bangalore trip so that he could meet me! Hats off! Also present was Kanika Singh, another good friend! I was trying to find her contact number but failed but Khaled bhai did the needful! Tussi great ho!

We headed to Pollo Campero food joint, the place of meet. Pranay meanwhile agreed to attend. Shalu too was on the way! ROCKING! Kanika sadly had to leave due to work commitments! Kanika left and Shalu joined who too wasn’t aware about Khaled’s presence! It was a pleasure to see the writer of my short film in front of me flashing her million dollar smile! Kya yeh sach mein ho raha hai, I was still thinking!

We spoke about Rockstar and how badly Nargis acted in the film and sadly, it was time for Shalu to leave too. I assured her that I’ll be back soon and that’s when we’ll chat aaram se! Meanwhile, Pranay came and we hit off instantly. We discussed mainly about movies and also about certain irritating MSians (details won’t be provided!). The guy was immensely charming and would surely like to chat with him for hours!

Khaled bhai then reminded me that I have a flight to catch and adviced that I should head to the airport. He was sweet enough to drop me till there. Gurpreet and Sana ji too joined. I passed some of the important junctions of the city like India Gate, Nizamuddin, Lajpat Nagar, AIIMS etc. As I was looking out of the window, I was trying to soak in as much Delhi as possible. I was still in a daze that I actually managed to get there and meet my dear MSian buddies.

But as Khaled bhai said, this meet isn’t counted…you have to be back and stay here for couple of days. I second him totally. I need to visit this magnificent city once more and stay here for a longer time so that I can meet my MSian buddies and interact with them without any hurry whatsoever. But yet, this small Delhi meet on 15-11-2011 meant a lot to me! I was showered with love (and gifts too!). Thanks guys for making me feel special…thanks guys for giving me such a great time! Delhi indeed is a city of Dilwallahs!
