Chalo Chalo Chalo Chalo DILLI! - Part 2

The first things we discussed were the plans for the day. We headed to Barakhamba Road where my dad’s office branch is situated. I realized it would be better if I left my luggage there so that I could easily roam around the city. After doing the needful, Gurpreet insisted we should visit Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. And what an experience it was! I was a kid when I visited Gurudwara once and had no memory of the same. Hence, it was a wonderful experience for me! We were then supposed to meet a friend, Nishant Jha (nishanu34), an old MSian but sadly he couldn’t make it as he was busy with his marriage preparations. The rest of the MSians were going to meet me before 12.30-1 pm. That’s when my eyes fell on Jantar Mantar and immediately decided to visit it. Gurpreet wasn’t ashamed to admit that she’s never been there although she has lived in Delhi since birth! This was a neatly maintained place and we both were happy we made a visit! We then headed to the CCD (simply to charge my phone...

My Most Awaited Films of 2012!

PLAYERS: Abbas-Mustan’s last venture Race was one of the finest suspense dramas of Bollywood. Hence, a lot is expected from Players, the OFFICIAL remake of The Italian Job. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Omi Vaidya and Sikander Kher, the film sadly has failed to create enough buzz thanks to average music score and lack of superstars in the cast. However, being an Abbas-Mustan film, I am hopeful the film would work! AGENT VINOD: Sriram Raghavan gave us a thrilling time with Johnny Gaddaar. Now he’s back with the big budget Agent Vinod, starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The film has been shot in exotic locations like Morocco and will have Saif-Kareena indulging in high octance action sequences! Given Raghavan’s track record, having skyhigh expectations from Agent Vinod won’t be wrong! PETER GAYA KAAM SE: A film ready since a long time, it stars Rajeev Khandelwal and newcomer Lekha Washington. I am one of the lucky few...

An Open Letter To Mr Uddhav Thackeray

Image
Dear Mr Uddhav Thackeray, Firstly and very honestly, it’s really very unfortunate to know about the demise of your father, Mr Balasaheb Thackeray. His contribution has been immense in shaping Maharashtra's history and also in shaping the lives of Maharashtrians. His legacy will live on for sure. May his soul rest in peace. At the same time, I would like to bring to your notice the fear mania that gripped the city after news came out that your father has left for heavenly abode. People ran out of their offices and workplaces to reach home. Shops downed their shutters immediately. This is entirely a personal choice and I would not like to comment on it. But there are certain shopkeepers who preferred to keep their shops open. Also, chemists and milk shops rightfully chose not to follow the herd. Certain hooligans, according to reports, compelled them to shut shop as well. Some even pelted stones at certain stores. Buses and trains were stopped, which were full of scared people hopi...

My Most Awaited Bollywood Films of 2013!

INKAAR: Contemporary films are always welcome, especially from seasoned directors. Sudhir Mishra’s Inkaar, dealing with sexual harassment at workplaces, seems immensely interesting from the promos and the poster and Arjun Rampal and Chitrangda Singh’s sizzling chemistry will make for a great watch hopefully. RACE 2: Race was one of the best suspense thrillers to have come out of Bollywood. No wonder that Race 2 is being hugely awaited. The promos lacked the Race-type factor and so did the songs. But with Abbas-Mustan at the helm of affiars and talented and glamorous stars comprising the principal cast, here’s hoping Race 2 turns out to be as good or even better than part 1 in terms of action, glamour, humour and most importantly, suspense! DAVID: A well-edited and presented promo can go a long way in creating excitement for a film, even if the movie doesn’t boast of A-listers. David confirms this fact and its first look trailers have blown away the viewers. Its director Bejoy Nam...

LOVE IN MY BOOK

LOVE  is not about finding the right person, but creating a right relationship. It's not about how much love you have in the beginning but how much love you build till the end. Love is a noble act of self-giving, offering trust, faith, and loyalty. The more you love, the more you lose a part of yourself, yet you don't become less of who you are; you end up being complete with your loved ones. This is LOVE. I AM NOT ME ... BUT I AM !

D on’t traverse across me like this as no such glorious splendour, I am; Understand that my presence is for now alone, & not forever here, I am; Even with a dull streak that was in me, the grace of life has lent colours hundred; Yet the rainbow of my life is black & white, as I see myself mundanely living dead! I agree, that you too have spent umpteen memories of sorrow with me in the past; I am happy at least that I wasn’t alone in my fond experiences that I remember last; But let’s not feel good by just reminding ourselves of this false sunlight of our memories; I am encapsulated by these shadows of my past, though I am no shadow of my histories! Whatever I am for now, I stand honestly in front of you, for this, I am, Many poets may have claimed virtues in this thought, but, this truth of words, I am!
