CWG – Collect Wealth Games ?

 

Commonwealth Games going by the current state of affairs, it is too much to ask for somebody to be positive about the games. We are left with no choice but to support this mess. Our politician’s don’t have any self respect any way but we common citizens care about our Nation's image in the world.


It is very disappointing to read the reports in the print & electronic media about hiring of treadmill for 45 days for a more than double the price of the hired item and purchase of power at Rs.80/ as against market rate of Rs.8/ per unit. Can anyone imagine a treadmill that costs under Rs 1 lakh being hired for Rs 10 lakh for a 45-day period & the list goes on - air conditioners, chairs, tables etc. We are incurring such a huge expenditure on an event that no one really cares about.


The CWG has ceased even to be a poor man's Olympics. Lot of money has been poured in to these games. With all these huge expenditures, we could still get a bad name. That would be big tragic. Adding salt to injury, the best-known names of the Commonwealth nations are pulling out of the Games. Almost every day, there is a fresh setback on this score.


May be, we could have used this money to prepare better competitors for Olympic Games. May be we could have passed on the funds to rural places to create basic sports facilities for millions of young children. May be, we could have used these funds to popularize many neglected games.


CWG is nearly two months away and there is still opportunity to correct some of the faults. There is no use if the opposition political parties demand for CBI enquiry after the CWG Games. The need of the hour, for the Indian Parliament, is to pass a law immediately that all those involved in this shameless loot should be punished. If the parliamentarians want to check the corruptions they have to act fast.


And the final request is we should all come together and make CWG a grand success and make our country proud in front of the world. Now having accepting the responsibility of hosting the CWG, we as a nation should rise to the occasion and make best use of this opportunity to showcase India as an emerging power. We have to save the pride of our country.

  I always buy some fancy things in the exhibitions. I buy what I like & I don’t think of buying as an investment because the fashions change, different things go in and out of favour and values will go up as well as down. Bellary Mining Scam - Scam Of The Century.

  Will our country ever come out of scams? There is a scam in every single step in this nation. Bhopal Gas Scam, Bofors scams, IPL Scams, Flood relief fund scam etc. From past several weeks the issue of illegal mining in Karnataka has been rocking both the Houses.
