Mirrors Don’t Lie.

The truth is always there

You can see it right before your eyes

It’s the one you’ll have to bare…

Early in the morning I was working-out in the gym, there was some disturbance, a lady was arguing with the gym instructor. She was explaining that she looks very lean & beautiful in her home mirror, but the mirrors fixed in the health club tell a different story of her excess weight. She went on & on arguing to the extent of explaining the mirror companies, qualities, and many types of plane, curved magnified mirror & what not. The poor guy was not able to say one line, Mirrors don’t lie.

Soon after the lady’s lecture I was recollecting a joke; a woman looks in the bedroom mirror and says to her husband, "I look horrible, I feel fat and ugly. Pay me a compliment". The husband replies, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect".

I don’t think that mirrors lie, but once my friend said, he knows that the mirrors in female fitting rooms are designed to make one look thinner. Maybe the lady or her husband has found one such mirror in their home. There’s a saying, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the mirror only reflects ones opinions of ones self. The mirror has no opinion.

Sometimes people can’t accept the truth and keep on lying until they believe the lie is true. A mirror like a camera does not capture our feelings or emotions, it merely reflects our shape & it really doesn't matter how we look unless we are in a bad shape. It is up to us what we want to see. Mirror never lies. Let our actions be the mirror we look at.

Long back I had read a health journal that if the person is just focused on the appearance of the body & external outcomes such as reducing the weight can take away from the enjoyment of the experience.

After six months of sincere hard work I reduced around twenty pounds. I enjoyed every moment of hard & sincere workout. I never dare to blame the mirror. I believe there is no easy way to achieve success in personnel or profession life except hard work. Sincerity is not just a single value; it combines all good human values. Where there is sincerity, there are all kinds of moral beauty. In contrast, insincerity makes ugly.

I was remembering some beautiful lines of a great scholar; he once said there are two kinds of human behaviour, the sincere and the insincere. Sincere behaviour is the result of adherence to principles, while insincere behaviour shows a lack of principle. Sincerity is the scarcest quality found in human beings. Sincerity is the noblest of all human qualities, but very few people would measure up to this high ideal.

Instead of shouting & blaming others let’s love to workout sincerely & get the desired results. This small incident was an eye opener for me. I have started to set goals & trying to achieve the goals with sincerity. No blames, no shortcuts only hard work & we all know that there is no substitute to hard work.

Let’s speak sweetly, think and live beautifully. Appreciate the good in everyone. Everything divine is within us and in everyone around us. Life will become easy and weightless.
