Mother's Love Is Forever

“The mother loves her child most divinely, not when she surrounds him with comfort and anticipates his wants, but when she resolutely holds him to the highest standards and is content with nothing less than his best.” (Hamilton Wright Mabie)

Sitting back at my office, I was thinking what should be my mother’s day surprise for my mom this year. I selected a beautiful Mountblanc handbag at Leela Galleria, gift for my mom on Mother’s day. She is not interested in gifts on mother's day. She says that my happiness is the best gift to her & she believes that not just one day in a year, everyday is a mother’s day & it should be celebrated every moment.

Mothers hold a special place in everyone's heart that no one can replace. I remember many people say education starts from home and who better to teach you than your own mother. Like all mothers my mother too gave me essential knowledge & taught me all the lessons of life. She taught not to be steady always but to rise whenever I fall & never to give up. She is life long pillar of support to me.

The big corporate world is celebrating mother’s day by offering gift vouchers, greeting cards, dinner coupons, beauty therapy sittings and many more innovative marketing strategies. Recently I took my mom for the medical checkup; even the doctors were emotionally marketing to go for multiple checkups to avail the discount benefits on Mother’s Day. At least let’s not commercialize this day like Valentine’s Day or Friendship Day. I am not against gifts, but personally I think our mother require respect, care, love & affection more than the gifts.

On the occasion of Mother’s Day I remember a very beautiful story, A man stopped at a flower shop to order some flowers to be wired to his mother who lived two hundred miles away. As he got out of his car he noticed a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing. He asked her what was wrong and she replied, “I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother. But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars.”

The man smiled and said, “Come on in with me. I’ll buy you a rose.” He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother’s flowers. As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home.

She said, “Yes, please! You can take me to my mother.” She directed him to a cemetery, where she placed the rose on a freshly dug grave.

The man returned to the flower shop, canceled the wire order, picked up a bouquet and drove the two hundred miles to his mother’s house.

Another beautiful incident to understand the status of mother, Once a companion of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) asked him, who should shower all his love and respect to. The Prophet said Your Mother, then he asked who next, The Prophet replied Your Mother, he then asked again who after that The Prophet replied your Mother again when the person asked who after that The Prophet replied your father. This shows the status of the mother.

A Very Happy Mother's Day, To all of the Wonderful Mothers. Who give so much and love unconditionally!!
